Emma and Peta are two local ladies who opened a Ladypace Centre in Kidlington to fill a clear gap in the UK fitness industry. Traditional health and fitness offerings in UK tend to inhibit participation by much of the female de-conditioned population.
- Many women do not enjoy exercising in the inherently competitive environment produced when having to work out alongside numbers of men and well co-ordinated fitter younger females.
- Many women do not believe they have time to make regular gym visits when it usually also includes the pre visit preparations and post workout changing.
- Many women are unaware of the need for, or the results delivered by, resistance training as part of their fitness regime.
- Many women have a long held negative view of exercise in that they have experienced boredom and muscle soreness, but limited continuous results, from their major time commitment in a less than sociable environment.
A LADYPACE CENTRE IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A QUICK, FUN, HIGHLY MOTIVATING ROUTE TO FITNESS AND BODY SHAPE CHANGES IN A RELAXED, SUPPORTIVE AND VERY SOCIABLE ATMOSPHERE.
Our equipment uses hydraulic cylinders to provide resistance for a muscle group in both directions. Since there is no heavy weight to lower this effectively means that predominantly muscles are used only in the concentric phase and so users are unlikely to experience the muscle soreness associated with using weights.
Our typical circuit consists of 8 hydraulic machines to work different muscle groups and 8 alternating intervening stations of jogging squares or steps to lower/maintain/raise heart rate and aerobic capacity.
To an all day lively music background each member uses each station in turn for 30/40 seconds and completes 3 full circuits for a full 30 minute workout, whilst maintaining their heart rate at only around 75% of their own maximum heart rate.
